DAE: Episode 14

SPECIAL GUEST ALERT!

This week I have been mining in a remote area of the world, searching for precious minerals and crafting huge structures that serve little purpose than to protect me from hordes of evil mobs in the late hours of the night.

So with me out of action the services of THE QUIM NINJA have been called on to help The Woaf navigate the wonderful waters of Halo. Quimothy is a talented Halo player with a great knowledge of the universe, and a wicked tongue that has me real life LOLing. You're in for a treat.

And if you want yourself a little more Quim (surely nobody can have too much? Snigger...) then head over to his blog at Teabag or Die! It's a great little corner of the 'net that also features the musings of Eremenko, who we've mentioned on the 'cast numerous times.

Enjoy, and I'll see you next time! Now where did I leave that TNT...?

Tom

  1. With that kind of intro your listeners can only be disappointed, thanks a bunch.

Seriously thanks for having me on and letting me shamelessly plug my blog.

Here is a link to that leaked doc about the Xbox I was muttering about.

and if any of the listeners want to read that fan fiction here is a link for that too.

    1. Having you on was an honour! I look forward to doing it again. Shame the announcement turned out to be Microsoft playing catch up with Apple but at least I won't have to sell my bed!

  2. 'Sup Bitches?

Great show as always Tom was missed but Quim stepped into his shoes more than admirably. Many thanks as always for the plugs and mentions. Onto my usual rambling thoughts about the topics you discussed excuse the lack of formatting and style it is because 1 I am in a rush and 2 I have none.

So Woaf ... shooting horses? Man thats twisted and you claim to have never harboured the desire to be a criminal? Simply a butcherer of innocent Equestrian life forms? I bet you always kill the MOA in reach too? Bravestar was fookin excellent btw.
Nathan Fillion et al were in Halo 3 you are right, Alan Tudyk actually has the first line being the engineer running diagnostics on the chiefs suit with sgt Johnson in the very first scene and it's Adam Baldwin.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't 'the Didact' a title rather than a name? doesn't this mean anyone could have attempted to claim the role of Didact even the Master Builder himself? Although I do love the theory of the MB having reprogrammed the Didact to serve his own evil ends. On your point about the lack of Halo on our blog the thing is there aint much point in us covering and recovering all the stuff that your good selves and Flawless C0wboy have already done especially when you consider our sporadic posting.

Quim I think PFC would be Private First Class? but as you well know I have a very limited grasp on both military ranks and words so don't quote me on that. Oh and yes Pokemon is mint.
I would like to retract my earlier comment on another episode about the new music as I am now fully in support of Davidge that whole crescendo towards the end of the trailer is completely epic.

Before I STFU I want to make one point abou saints row, you're right in saying it is not just a GTA spoof, that does its own thing the thing I found it lacking in was production value. Where in GTA every car has its own engine and even door sound effects with unique handling and character the cars, sounds and even scenery in Saints Row the third just feel a little cheap and lazy. All that said it is alot of fun to play.

Anyhow I'm going to stop now as I fear I am boring anyone who has gotten this far.

Keep up the good work gang.

    1. It seems I should clarify. While I have no desire to be an intelligent and successful career criminal. Part of me does enjoy being a complete socio-path in a simulated environment.

Which is why I enjoy this kind of moronic gameplay...

(Do NOT foloow this link at work or if you are easily offended by general... wrongness)

You right though the production value left a lot to be desired. I don't really care what the cars sound like but the mission design towards the end of the game was just broke to the point where I couldn't complete the game.

I had no idea Tudyk was in Halo 3 as well! I love learning about this franchise!

      Everyone should go to teabagordie.wordpress.com!

    2. Hah funny video man. I'm not that easily offended though ... try harder next time. It's not so much that I cared about the car sounds it's just difficult to forgive errors like that once you've played something as polished as gta iv I may just be remembering it wrong but it seemed to me saints row the third was actually cheaper than the original? But it has zombies so all is forgiven I love killing zombies (WARNING: this does not include infection on reach).

  3. Nice show guys. Wanted to toss an idea your way. We're thinking of having a series of events that mimics Bungie's Humpday Challenge from days of old.

Essentially we'll square off against other Halo/Gaming podcasts, and do a full-blown review of the game-stats and share war stories. Great opportunity to network and cross promote with other shows.

What do you think? I'm thinking the inaugural match should be against D&E.

    Cheers,

    1. Do it! Sounds awesome! We look forward to teaching you some things about Reach.

(lessons may include but not be limited to:- How to fail more efficiently at team communication, How to crumble under pressure and how to publicly embarrass ourselves on someone else's podcast)

    1. Tom thought it would be an appropriate way to celebrate both your début on DaE and the return of fileshare on the PC. I agreed!

  5. Couple things:

1.) Quim and Woaf, you guys were great - if Cortana doesn't morph into a toilet by Halo 5, 343 will have failed in my eyes.

2.) I've been there - when those around you don't appreciate the awesome around them., i.e., your barbeque right in the middle of the Halo 4 E3 demo.

3.) "Tom gone byebye" is one of the funniest tags I've seen. Well done.

Looking forward to the next, and while it's been on my list for a while I really want to go out and buy Red Dead Redemption now :-)

What's funny about what we said is that we are stimutaneously thanking this fellow in a casual manner and directly referencing his chosen Internet handle, clever foxes that we are.
